Poem by Stanley Moss

Teacher of reading, of "You will not" and "You shall,"
almighty Grammarian author of Genesis,
whether language holds three forms of the future
as Hebrew does or no tense at all
like Chinese, may it perform a public service,
offer the protection of the Great Wall,
the hope and sorrow of the Western Wall.
